Taking a step back from all the “latest and greatest”, this talk is aimed providing a broad spectrum of real world “use it now” tips and examples. We’ll cover the basics of such things as generating PDF files for print jobs, sending email from Progress, linking directly from Progress into Excel or Word, calling Windows APIs from Progress and more. Whether your interface is character, graphical or web-based, you will walk away with new tools that you can use immediately to add flash and functionality to your existing code. For the administrators, we will also cover those “got to have” scripts and resources that automate and simplify the maintenance of a typical Progress system. From information sources comparing common Unix utilities across platforms to rock solid scripts for implementing warm-sparing and more.
