Progress Unveils Bold New Creative Identity to Re-energize Its Brand

Progress Software has introduced a fresh new corporate brand identity, including an iconic new logo, emphasizing the spark of business ideas its software provides to customers and partners and its
more than 30-year heritage of innovation. The new corporate brand coincides with Progress' launch of a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that enables powerful business applications to be easily created by anyone using a web browser.

Working with North Carolina brand strategy agency New Kind, Progress set out to establish a brand identity that is bold and recognizable but that is also true to the company's strong values. The idea was to create a modern look that would help position Progress alongside major players in the cloud markets like Amazon, Google, Salesforce.com and others. The new branding is based on the concept that every new business reality begins as an idea, a simple spark. The color orange, which has always been a core element of the Progress brand, is richer and deeper in the new identity and symbolizes
the energy and excitement of the company entering a new era. To develop this new brand identity, Progress engaged a passionate community of advocates both inside and outside the company, including employees, partners, and customers. Their collective ideas served as the inspiration for the final creative direction that was unveiled at Progress Exchange 2013, its annual worldwide conference for customers and partners last week in Boston.

Progress Empowers Customers and Partners with New Community Forum

Progress unveiled at its Exchange 2013 user conferences a new, open community forum designed to enable developers to access and share timely, expert and relevant technical and
business content. "The Community" will be an online hub where developers, independent software vendors and business managers can collaborate as they create, and customize business applications with leading technologies, including the Progress® Pacific™ platform-as-a-service (PaaS). As businesses of all sizes address unprecedented market pressures to develop applications quickly and at low cost,
developers and other technical professionals seek online forums to quickly solve problems and share best practices as well as tips and tricks.

The Community will introduce an open source way of thinking (transparent and authentic) and allow Progress users, customers and partners to exchange questions and access relevant information instantly. For those looking to develop an application quickly, The Community will house drag and drop short cuts as well as solutions posted by other users.  The new community will continue to provide the same level of high-quality content as Progress' previous forum, but with additional features.

  • An open platform available to both Pacific users and non-users after a one-time registration
  • An event calendar with updates on Webinars, white papers, useful product information, and monthly Q&A
  • Automatic reenrollment for previous members into the new community
  • Job-posting corner where businesses can post opportunities within their organizations
