Progress Ranked First in Systems Software Industry


Based upon trading activity on September 22, Progress Software ranked first in the Systems Software industry as measured by relative performance, according to SmartTrend News Watch . It had a gain of 8.18 percent. Ranking second, Novell had a gain of 2.68 percent.

See How Progress Performed in Its 3Q


Progress Software Corporation announced how it performed in its third fiscal quarter, which ended August 31, 2010. According to Progress, "On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, revenue for the quarter was $128.7 million, up 8 percent from $119.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2009."

On a non-GAAP basis, revenue totaled $128.8 million, also up 8 percent compared to the same period a year ago. Software license revenue increased 14 percent to $44.7 million from $39.2 million in the same quarter last year.
On a GAAP basis:

Operating income increased 81 percent to $16.5 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2010 as compared to $9.1 million in the same quarter last year;
Net income increased 67 percent to $9.2 million from $5.5 million in the same quarter last year;
Diluted earnings per share increased 62 percent to 21 cents in the third quarter of fiscal 2010 as compared to 13 cents in the same quarter a year ago.

On September 21st, Progress Software announced results of its third fiscal quarter, which ended August 31, 2010.  According to Progress, "On a generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) basis, revenue for the quarter was $128.7 million, up 8 percent from $119.4 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2009. Also, the company announced its "Operating income increased 81 percent to $16.5 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2010 as compared to $9.1 million in the same quarter last year."

She, along with others, are chosen by the magazine's editors for their influence within the industry and executive achievements.

Progress Software has appointed Graeme Clark, a sales leader in financial services of 25 years', as regional vice-president for financial services in EMEA.
