PSC Enhances SWIFT Message Support


Progress just announced "SWIFTReady(TM) Messaging Data Services 2009 certification for Artix Data Services 3.9 and the availability of pre-built standards libraries for SWIFT Standards MT Release 2009 (SR 2009), SWIFTNet Workers’ Remittances, SWIFTNet Bulk Payments, SWIFTNet SCORE, and SWIFTNet Transaction Reporting. With out-of-the box support for Standards MT Release 2009, companies can significantly reduce the risks and costs associated in migrating their current SWIFT messages to the new format by November 21, 2009, when the changes must be implemented," according to a recent Progress' press release. New Release of DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET Delivers Oracle Connectivity


Progress DataDirect Connect for ADO.NET Release 3.3 has Oracle connectivity and removes the need for Oracle database client libraries (instant and client). According to Progress, "Because managed code runs in the Common Language Runtime (CLR) environment it reduces risks such as memory leaks and closes security holes that unmanaged code leaves exposed, providing developers secure, reliable and versatile deployment options available in both application and client-server environments."

Survey Reveals Travel Firms Have Lost $11.5M a Year from Failed Transactions


According to research by Progress, "Ninety eight percent of travel firms have lost, on average, revenue of $11.5 million a year because of failure of transactions (such as reservations, bookings, check-in, etc.), according to a survey released today. Research by Progress Software Corporation (NASDAQ: PRGS), which surveyed 149 global travel businesses, found that 67% of respondents have noticed their transaction failures soar by almost a third – even though their transactions have only increased by 12%."
